Important Questions to Be Answered

- Is Working / Living in Foreign Country Beneficial to you? Why? ~It is
indeed beneficial. First, financially. I could earn more than what I was earning back home. Second, socially. I gain more experience. Being a part of this business industry gives me some kind of global exposure. I get to deal with other people of different races. Third, otionally. Having been away from my loved ones is really hard but it also made me tougher and more responsible.

- Do you want to permanently settle abroad? Why? ~Yes, although not
100%. Home is still where my heart is.

- Do you think our country's economy is getting better because of OFWs? Why? ~OFWs help a lot(mostly thru their remittances), but I wouldn't say that our country is getting better mainly because of OFWs. A lot of people back home are also struggling as much as we do abroad.

- Are You Worried About the Brain Drain that our country is facing at this time? Why? ~Definitely. Most skilled Filipinos are leaving the Philippines for greener pastures around the globe. But I'm more worried if most of those skilled Filipinos in the IT field and any other technological development fields would leave our country. If that happens, I just couldn't imagine the effect on the advancement of our technology.

- Can You give some tips or advise to others who may wish to work abroad too? Specially on places that you've worked for? ~Be open-minded. Always remember that other countries have different cultures and way of life than ours. When faced with racism, deal with it graciously. Be proud that you are a Filipino.

- If you'll be given a post to serve OFWs, what could be your plans to protect or serve the Filipino Workers Worldwide? ~Ensure that their rights are well-taken care of, that they wouldn't be abused. Also, introduce some programs that would enhance their skills.

- What do you think is best about being a Filipino? ~I'd say no one beats the patience and dedication of a Filipino. I believe these are some of our best innate traits.
