TSPI Development Corporation - TSPI KABUHAYAN PROGRAM (TKP) at Iba pa (Added Mar 4 2007)

TSPI Development Corporation is a non-stock, non-profit development organization established on October 9, 1981 and duly registered with the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The acronym, TSPI stands for "Bridge to Progress" (Tulay sa Pag-unlad Inc.) which signifies the developmental vision of the organization to provide the poor with opportunities to lead self-sufficient, dignified and responsible lives. TSPI promotes the development of micro and small entrepreneurs through a broad range of financial and complementary services on which potentials for income generation and capability build-up can be harnessed.

As an ecumenical organization, TSPI stands by the four core values of servanthood, integrity, stewardship and excellence. Through its work, TSPI hopes to pass on these values so clients can realize fullness of life, which material growth alone cannot bring about.

SAKBAYAN LENDING PROGRAM
("Sasakyan ng Bayan";Transport for the Masses in English)

targets the transport (tricycle) sector
option for group lending (3-6 members) or individual borrowing with 2 co-makers
loan sizes ranging from P75,000-P85,000 (US$1,500-US$1,700)
30 months loan period
mobilizes group savings

Tricycle Drivers & Operators Assistance Program (TAP)

supports family businesses of tricycle drivers and operators
offers loan size ranging from P10,000-P50,000 (US$200-US$1,000)
3-6 month loan period
requires 2 co-makers,chattel/vehicle mortgage

Individual Loan Assistance Program(ILAP)

targets individual borrowers poised for business expansion
involves loan size P50,000 - 500,000 (US$1,000 - US$10,000)
loan period of 6-24 month
requires real estate as collateral
creates jobs for the poor

targets poor women with existing enterprises
adapts the ASA (Association for Social Advancement in Bangladesh) model
involves group membership (10-20 member) yet adopts individual responsibility in loan payment

Client Development

provides non-formal values education (i.e work ethics; family life enrichment)

Staff Development

3-day training intended to give an overview of TSPI microfinance programs

1-day training for TKP client/center leaders

includes group discussion, group dynamics, and lectures
